De Rougemont Manor is a family managed, exclusive hotel in Brentwood, Essex which has as of late has a restoration, which has helped the hotel in accomplishing a 4-star rating. During weekdays the hotel specializes in caring for business visitors and corporate occasions, while during the end of the week it is all the more family orientated, providing food for private capacities, mainly Wedding Receptions, and it is Certified by the nearby Borough Council to play out the Wedding Ceremony as well! De Rougemont Manor plans to give a paramount and individual experience for all visitors, both joy and business the same. Gatherings from two people to 300 individuals can be catered for in style, with an incredible choice of food, either from Heseltine's Restaurant or from a sumptuous buffet.

The De Rougemont Manor carries the name of one of its former owners Muriel, the wife of Boer War hero Major General Cecil de Rougemont. She was also the daughter of Mr Evelyn Heseltine who arrived in Great Warley in 1875 and created a 'country house' out of a cottage. A very wealthy stockbroker, Heseltine is lauded as one of the great benefactors of the centuries old Brentwood School and the builder of the famous 'art nouveau' church, which he dedicated to a dead brother. He also built a local empire of farms and other property to become recognised in the early years of the 20th century as the village 'squire'. He and his wife entertained the local county gentry in their vastly expanded house - a building he actually turned around, from facing the road to make its front entrance overlooking Upminster Common. After the death of Evelyn and his wife the house passed to Muriel who lost one son during World War 2 and another who also died at a young age. When she too died the house was brought by two local businessmen to become the New World Country Club but it wasn't long before one of them, former Romford market Trader and builder Ian Hilton, bought his partner out and turned the place into the New World Hotel. He also turned the house around so it fronted the street again. Like Heseltine, Ian Hilton is a great lover of tradition and used his business skills to restore the building to reflect all its old 'country house' style. After the fire he and his family continued to rebuild to that concept and renamed it the De Rougemont Manor, in honour of the former owner. Great food, unobtrusive service and comfortable surroundings all go to make Heseltines Restaurant the ideal meeting place. The menu changes regularly to allow the top-class chefs to prepare food from the freshest seasonal ingredients. There is also a selection of daily special dishes available so guests can be sure of a great experience every time they dine. With a comfortable, unhurried atmosphere, Heseltines is a place where time can be taken to enjoy the meal, then guests can relax with an after-dinner drink and conversation on comfortable sofas. Continental or Full English breakfast is served Monday - Friday 6.30am - 9.30am, Saturday and Sunday 7.00am - 10.00am. Lunch is served all day Monday to Saturday and on Sunday from Midday - 3.30pm with a Fixed Price menu. Dinner is served Monday - Saturday 6.30pm - 10.00pm with a selective menu in the bars or lounges on Sundays. The Restaurant closes at 4.00pm on Sundays (last orders are taken at 3.00pm). Guests wishing to visit the hotels' private nature reserve will be pleased to discover it is only a short stroll from the terrace at the rear of the property. Venture beyond the ornamental pond located behind the swimming pool and guests will find one of the 2 entrance gates. The nature reserve is an area of outstanding natural beauty & biodiversity, home to an ever-expanding range of local migratory wildlife, no hunting or trapping, legal or otherwise has been allowed in the reserve for over 35 years. Once inside, guests will see evidence of the great storm of 1987 in the form of felled trees, resting where the storm left them! There is also a natural lake, established over 100 years ago which is home to a thriving eco-system. Please note, that once inside the nature reserve, guests will be in a wild environment with natural hazards i.e. the occasional falling branch, naturally formed bodies of water etc, it is suggested that guests exercise caution and stick to the paths denoted by orange striped logs and be especially careful around the lake periphery whilst inside. Regrettably, persons under the age of 16 are not allowed into the reserve (for reasons of safety) unless supervised by an adult or guardian above this age. Gym is open all year round from 7.00am - 10.00pm. There is no charge to hotel residents for the use of the gymnasium and it is equipped with private separate male and female shower rooms guests comfort and convenience. The swimming pool is opened seasonally 7 days a week from mid May until mid September, from 10.00am until 6.00pm. There is no charge to hotel residents for the use of the swimming pool. A variety of function and conference facilities are offered including the Goldings Suite, Conference Centre: this newly refurbished function suite is the largest of all of the function suites and is located adjacent to the main De Rougemont Manor, and is a totally separate building, complete with its own catering facilities, bars, toilet, reception and ancillaries.
