Lucy Cavendish College was established in 1965 as a college at the University of Cambridge for women aged over 21. Women from a variety of backgrounds come to Lucy Cavendish where they can study at this world-class university at a time in their lives that suits them. The College is named after Lucy Cavendish, a leading Victorian campaigner for the reform of women’s education. The rooms at the new student centre are offered on a self-catering basis and as a guest you will have access to a contemporary, spacious kitchen which is perfect for the preparation of simple meals. Basic crockery and cutlery is provided. Nearby you will find takeaway restaurants, a café and a variety of supermarkets or if you'd prefer then a vast array of restaurants awaits in the centre of Cambridge. The residence benefits from communal gardens where you can sit and relax and enjoy some Cambridge sunshine! Wired internet access is available in every bedroom and wifi is available throughout the entire building. There is a television in the common room where guests can relax.

Arrival information

Check In: From 2.00pm Check Out: Before 9.30am Please go to the main college site to check in. Address of main College Site: Lucy Cavendish College, Lady Margaret Road, Cambridge, CB3 0BU On arrival, please report to the Porters' Lodge at the main College site where you will register and collect your room access card (a £10 cash deposit is required). You will then be directed to your room at 100 Histon Road. Histon Road is a 10 minute walk from the main College site or alternatively, the porter on duty can call a taxi for you. There is strictly no parking at Histon Road. On departure, please ensure that you return your room access card to the Porters' Lodge at the main College site. Your £10 cash deposit will be refunded to you on receipt of the card. Directions to main College site: By Road: M11 Junction 13, turn right at sliproad traffic lights, then go straight over next traffic lights, continue straight for a mile. When you can see that the road terminates at a mini roundabout about 150 metres ahead, you will come to a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights, look for a left turn marked 'Huntingdon, A14, Arbury, Shire Hall'. Take this, then first left into Lucy Cavendish College. Car parking is available at the main College site by arrangement. On Foot: Lucy Cavendish College is 10 minutes to the north of the city centre, just off "The Backs". It is situated on the corner of Lady Margaret Road and Madingley Road.
