Ian Baker House is situated just off Tottenham Court Road, in the heart of Central London and was completed and opened in 2008. Oxford Street, Britain’s premier shopping street is a ten-minute walk away, whilst Soho, Theatreland, China Town and Regent’s Park are also within walking distance. There are 90 rooms providing single rooms on a room only basis. Kitchens are shared with up to six other guests. There are also a small number of ensuite rooms available, subject to availability. Guests can also use the facilities at Ramsay Hall (which is in the same location), which shares the same site, including laundry facilities (to be paid extra), music room and television room, and meals can be provided for groups. Groups which require catering must book in advance.

Ian Baker House offers self-catering facilities include use of communal kitchens. These kitchens are fully equipped and all have refrigerators, freezers, cookers, and microwaves, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Kitchens are cleaned frequently (at least once weekly), but guests are responsible for cleaning and tidying. Kitchens and communal rooms can be used 24 hours a day. Please observe silence after 11.00pm at night as not to disturb other guests. There is a small courtyard garden for guests use. Regents Park, which is one of the Royal Parks is only an 11-minute walk or 0.5 miles. Regents Park combines large open spaces with tree-lined pathways, formal gardens and four children's playgrounds. It has excellent sports facilities and contains London's largest outdoor space area. Visit the Open-air theatre and London Zoo then take a stroll up Primrose Hill for excellent views of the London skyline. All bedrooms have Wi-Fi as well as the common areas of Ramsay Hall. There is no smoking inside any UCL building. Smoking is permitted in courtyards with consideration for other guests. Guests can use the card/mobile app operated laundrette at Ramsay Hall, (adjacent site).

Arrival information

Upon arrival please come to the reception at Ramsay Hall (adjacent site) to collect the room key. Please note that rooms must be vacated by the check out time. The reception office is open 24 hours per day. Directions: From Warren Street, turn right out of the station. Turn right on Maple Street. Ramsay Hall is on your right-hand side. Ian Baker House shares the site with Ramsay Hall, and keys are collected from the Ramsay Hall reception. Goodge Street (Northern Line) 0.3 miles, 0.5 km.Euston Square (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines) 0.3 miles, 0.5 km. Great Portland Street (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines) 0.3 miles, 0.5 km. Regent's Park (Bakerloo Line) 0.5 miles, 0.7 km. A taxi could cost around £10 from the station.
