This small hotel occupying one of the best locations in London is only a five minute walk from Marble Arch and tube stations and is located on a quiet street opening onto Hyde Park. The Parkwood is a short walk across Hyde Park from Buckingham Palace and Bird Cage Walk, and is within walking distance of theatres, shops and major tourist sites. The Parkwood is a smoke-free hotel and is a Grade II Listed historic building so they are not permitted to install a lift (elevator). Offering single, twin, double and family bedrooms which are all clean and comfortable and have modern facilities some ensuite and others with a private patio. The hotel is in an area of London which is accessible to all parts of London. Be sure to buy an Oyster Card when travelling around London and The London Pass is a great way to see lots of attractions at a discounted price.

The buildings in Stanhope Place, where the Parkwood Hotel is situated, were built in the reign of William IV during the early 1800’s at the heart of a district then known as Tyburnia, located near the site of the infamous Tyburn Tree, the King's gallows between 1196 and 1783. The Tyburn tree was a huge triangular construction, the three posts were 18 feet high and the crossbeams were nine feet long - capable of hanging 24 (eight on each horizontal beam) prisoners at once. Records only show it being used at full capacity once, in 1649. A Full English Breakfast is included in the price and is served from 7.30am with a choice of various cereals, yoghurts, choice of fruit juices, tea and coffee, toast, choice of jams, marmalade and honey, eggs (fried, scrambled, poached), grilled bacon, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans. Eat as much as you like! Hyde Park is just 50 yards away with Buckingham Palace just a short walk on the other side of the park. All bedrooms include the following facilities; Television, free Wi-Fi, radio, tea/coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone, fan and a room safe. Guests can relax in the guest lounge and browse the tourist information supplied.

Check In: 1.30pm Check Out: 10.30am Directions: From Heathrow Airport: Take the Express train into Paddington Station which leave every 15 minutes (journey time approximately 15 minutes). From Paddington Station: Take a 5-minute taxi ride to the hotel approximately £7 Taxi (Black Cab). By Tube: Get a ticket for Marble Arch and take the Piccadilly Line Tube into London (every 5-10 minutes). Change trains at Holborn onto the Central Line and take the westbound train to Marble Arch which takes 55 minutes.The first train service is at 5.40am.
