Walworth Castle Hotel is set in the moving field of the Tees valley, just toward the West of Darlington. It was worked in 1189 and is one of only a handful couple of château inns in England. Near the memorable urban areas of Darlington, Durham and York, various manors, exhibition halls, dazzling wide open and the coast. Recently refurbished to an extremely high standard Walworth Castle Hotel really is the ideal venue to sample England's living history and is a grade 1 listed building. Each of the 34 bedrooms and numerous reception rooms have their own particular character, many with individually designed upholstery. Choose from Standard, Executive rooms or one of the character suite rooms such as the King James Suite which features a tented double jacuzzi bath, a dramatic 16th century ceiling, lounge area and a secret doorway leading to a circular tower which hosts a superb King sized four-poster bed.

Walworth Castle is a 16th century mansion house, built in the style of a medieval castle. It is a Grade 1 listed building. It was completed around 1600, probably by Thomas Holt for Thomas Jenison. It stands on the site of a former manor house or castle built in the 12th century by the Hansard family. The estate passed through the hands of the Ayscoughs and Aylmers besides the Hansards and Jenisons, and became a prisoner-of-war camp during World War II and then a girls' boarding school after the war. It has been a hotel since 1981. One famous visitor to the castle was King James, who stayed at Walworth Castle on April 14th 1603, when he was travelling from Scotland to London for his coronation. Relax and enjoy a meal in the 16th Century Farmers Restaurant. Serving a good variety of freshly prepared dishes from breakfast through to lunches and dinners. The Farmers Bar is a traditional English pub. With hearty good food and a good atmosphere, it serves traditional bar meals and sandwiches around a roaring log fire. On week days, the Farmers Bar is open every lunchtime from 12.00pm until 2.00pm and again in the evening from 6.00pm until 11.00pm, where food is served until 9.30pm. 18 acres of lawns and woodlands to explore with a large outdoor seating area at the rear of the hotel with tables, chairs and parasols. There is ample room for children to play on the lawns and an adventure playground area close to the seating area so that children can be easily supervised. All bedrooms include a minimum of 19 inch TV's, ipod docking stations as well as tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries. All customers to BW Walworth Castle Hotel can now charge their Electric vehicle for free of charge. There are installed charging points which are suitable for all types of electric cars.
