Headlam Hall is located in a picturesque hamlet in lower Teesdale midway between the towns of Darlington and Barnard Castle in Durham, North East England. With many accolades including North East Small Hotel of the Year and awarded AA 4 star with rosette award for cuisine Headlam Hall is an ideal place to stay for business or pleasure. The independent family run hotel, spa and golf course offers the best of northern hospitality and is well located as a base for visiting the regions main tourist attractions. There are forty luxurious bedrooms including comfortable double/twin ensuites, family bedrooms, suites and dog friendly bedrooms, an award winning restaurant, a superb spa and a challenging nine hole golf course.

Headlam Hall was built in the mid 17th Century and has a rich history of ownership including the Birbeck family, Brocket family and Lord & Lady Gainford. It has been a hotel since 1979 under the ownership of the Robinson family who have farmed at Headlam for four generations. Sir Nikolaus Pevsner described Headlam Hall as "a perfect example of a medium sized manor house of stone, Jacobean on one side and of eighteenth century on the others". Breakfast is served 7.00am - 10.00am Mon-Sat and 8.00am - 10.00am Sundays. Lunch is served 12.00pm - 2.00pm daily and dinner 7pm - 9pm daily. The team of Chefs enjoy an excellent reputation for producing tasty and imaginative modern British dishes utilising the best of seasonal locally sourced produce, including ingredients from the Hall gardens. This has resulted in awards including Taste Durham Highest Quality Assured, Local Champion and AA rosette. Food is served in either the intimate Panelled Room or the superb new Orangery Restaurant with professional, friendly service to create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. An extensive wine list includes classical French and exciting New World wines at sensible prices to accompany the meal. There is excellent scope for private dining in one of the three rooms suitable for parties of six to forty for either lunch or dinner. The four acres of walled gardens are a tranquil haven from the modern world with ancient beech hedges, colourful herbaceous borders, flowing waters and extensive lawns. The gardens also include a charming rose garden, vegetable and herb patches supplying the kitchens and a tennis court. Beyond the garden lies the challenging nine hole golf course and then over two hundred and fifty acres of farming estate. Each bedroom is equipped with the following facilities; Ensuite bathrooms with toiletries, hair dryers, free wireless internet access, Freeview TV channels, ironing centres and tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary mineral water and biscuits. Suites have added facilities including; ipod/iphone speaker dock and bathrobes. The superb spa has been designed to reflect the surrounding countryside with natural colours, stone, wood and beautiful views. There is a 15m pool, outdoor hydrotherapy spa, sauna, steam room, fully equipped gym and five luxurious treatment rooms where a range of massages, facials and beauty treatments are available. There is also a spa lounge and brasserie where guests can enjoy a bite to eat and a drink overlooking the countryside.
