Loch Kinord Hotel is a delightful little country inn style Scottish hotel, 5 miles from Ballater and Aboyne in glorious Royal Deeside. This family-run hotel nestles in the heart of Aberdeen and Grampian region, 30 minutes from Balmoral Castle and Crathie Church. An easy drive to the Lecht and Glenshee ski centres. An hour from Aberdeen and Aberdeen Dyce Airport. At the eastern gateway to Cairngorms National Park. Surrounded by delightful highland golf courses, superb River Dee fishing, and the gliding centre near Aboyne. Spacious, and stylishly designed, this uniquely crafted Royal Deeside hideaway seamlessly blends upscale tranquillity with affordable charm and understated luxury.

The hotel was built in the late 1800s and was originally an upmarket hotel for wealthy fishermen, stalkers and travellers. It was previously called "The Profeits Hotel" being built for the two nieces of Queen Victoria's doctor - Doctor Profeit. A perennially popular destination for fishers, stalkers, golfers and tourists. The hotel has just become one of the few hotels in the Grampian and Royal Deeside area to achieve the AA Rosette award for excellence in its cuisine. The elegantly decorated restaurant was recently refurbished to give a more formal, yet relaxed environment in which to enjoy our menus. The lounge at the Loch Kinord is a large airy room with lots of windows including a large bay window to the front and glass doors leading to the garden. The lounge has comfortable sofas in front of the large fireplace and also informal seating where you can enjoy a light lunch or dinner. When the weather is fine there is additional seating on the lawn. Adjoining the Lounge is the whisky bar, which boasts a fine selection of Scotland's malts and Scottish beers. The bar also features an open fire for those colder days. Please book dinner or supper in advance in the Additional Information section of the booking form. Originally laid as a croquet lawn and extending the whole length of the west side of the hotel is a large garden and decked patio area, with tables on the lawn. When sunny the garden gets sunshine most of the day and makes a pleasant spot to enjoy a bar meal or drink. There is also the facility to offer barbecues. The exterior of the hotel is covered in ivy which changes colour as the summer progresses and at the front is a large sprawling clematis. The garden is bordered by rose bushes and other colourful shrubs - any advice to the owner (and amateur gardener) would be appreciated.
