Set in 2.5 acres of tree lined gardens, this 18th century hotel offers a warm welcome and excellent service. Located in the town of Batley, Leeds and Halifax are both a 20 minutes drive away. Warmly furnished with classic decor, all bedrooms include private ensuite bathrooms. Rooms also feature a TV, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing beds and all older children or adults are charged £10.00 per person, per night for extra beds, please add as an upgrade when booking. The maximum number of extra beds/children's cots permitted in a room is 1. The Alder House Hotel is also a perfect venue for weddings and events, conferences and accommodation, and only minutes away from the M62 and M1 motorways, and also offers ample free parking.
The original Georgian building was known as Healey House. Little is known of the original owners but the Healey family had resided in Healey, a parish of Batley, during the 16th Century. Perhaps the most famous resident of Healey House was Theodore Cooke Taylor, who lived there as a child and young man in the mid 1800’s. At the time his father Joshua described the house as ‘a substantial stone building upon an eminence overlooking the rural part of the town'. In 1982 that Healey House was converted into the privately owned hotel as it is today. The Mulberry Restaurant is open for breakfast and serves both a full English and Continental breakfast at an additional charge of £7.50 for adults and £3.75 for children under the age of 12 this is served between 7am - 9pm mon to friday and at weekends 8am to 10am, please add as an upgrade when booking. Evening meals are available in our restaurant and bar from 6pm serving a carefully created, mouth-watering menu . The Classic Bar has a large open log fireplace for winter evenings and a comfortable atmosphere for those before and after dinner drinks . Guests have use of the 2.5 acre gardens to walk around or just sit and relax in and look at the trees and squirrels we have. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi,and Tv and all rooms have double beds and ensuite facilities. In the bar we have a communal tv with sky and sky movies and sports.
