Alexander Fleming House is located in the business district of London, near to St Paul's Cathedral and the Barbican Arts Centre. This part of London is very diverse in its culture and atmosphere, attracting artists and designers as well as large financial institutions and banks. Close by are the colourful markets of the East End as well as the more traditional tourist sights. The halls consist of three separate buildings with private single study bedrooms of 4/6 or 8 in self-contained flats with wash basins. The bathroom and kitchen/diner is shared only with the other occupants of the flat. Situated on a pleasant paved piazza, this hall is ideal for the traveller wanting to get a real feel for the sights and sounds of London. There are good transport links to the West End and theatre land. The halls are also safe, clean and secure with friendly staff on hand to make sure your stay is a happy and memorable. With regret children are not permitted at this residence as there is a limit to 1 person per bedroom and children are not allowed to stay in a bedroom by themselves.

There are cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery in every kitchen for your use. Please wash up and return borrowed items when you have finished using them. There is a wide range of restaurants in the area, offering local and international cuisines. There is also a café for drinks and light refreshments. Brick Lane, a short distance away, is famous for its curries. Hoxton Street and Pitfield Street are ideal for take-away fish and chips and vegetarian cafés. Old Street has many chain restaurants. Islington offers a variety of foreign cuisine in some of the most highly recommended restaurants. Free wireless internet. There is a coin-operated launderette on the ground floor of Building A, situated on Pitfield Street. Detergent and other laundry products can be purchased from local shops. You will find an iron/ironing board in every kitchen.
