The Beckford Inn & Restaurant truly is a great British Country Inn & Restaurant and we are waiting to offer you the warmest welcome in the Cotswolds.
The Beckford Inn is a beautiful old Cotswold stone freehouse, built around 1751, just outside the village of Beckford which has seen settlements dating back to Roman times around 60AD. Originally an old Coaching House, it was one of the first buildings on the road between Tewkesbury & Evesham. History abounds in the surrounding area and there are many links with the Saxons. Monasteries, Hailes Abbey & Tewkesbury Abbey are all close by. There are even rumours that Charles II hid out locally when fleeing for his life to France after the Battle of Worcester. At The Beckford Inn we pride ourselves on the quality of our food, created by our talented chefs using only the finest and freshest, local seasonal food. We are also equally proud of our fine range of wines, many by the glass, and our ever changing choice of great local and famous British Real Ales, as well as an amazing choice of Malt Whiskys. Surrounded by some of the most fertile soil in the country we have a wealth of local produce to choose from. We are on the edge of the vale of Evesham - famous for the finest English Asparagus. Lush green fields feed herds of Hereford Cattle for the best Chargrilled Steaks. Fresh lamb often comes from the village of Overbury - just over the hill, whilst our local butcher turns Gloucester Old Spot Pork into simply the best sausages for our Bangers & Mash with Rich Onion Gravy. In 2009 we began to grow some of our own produce too - fresh herbs, rhubarb and a glut of cherry tomatoes, plums & apples. This year we plan to grow even more, as long as we can keep the rabbits away! Join us for breakfast, a light pub lunch, fabulous Cotswold Cream Tea or a gourmet meal. Dine in our beautiful new-look restaurant with its comfy chairs or settle in the bar by a roaring fire and on a sunny day relax in our lovely gardens. The Beckford Inn is set in over 4 acres of its own gardens, surrounded by open fields on the northern edge of the Cotswolds and in the Vale of Evesham, under the beautiful Bredon Hill. The Beckford Inn enjoys the convenience of being just off the A46 but with views and pretty villages all around, right on the doorstep of the stunning Cotswolds and near to Cheltenham and the Race Course.
