St Catharine's is a vibrant and successful community of scholars who are delighted to welcome visitors to the city and College. All the rooms provided are used during term time by undergraduate students and are therefore not equipped to hotel standards (i.e. There are no TVs in the rooms). However, clean and comfortable rooms with tea/coffee making facilities are guaranteed; towels, toiletries and complimentary WiFi in the bedrooms and public areas. The standard rooms are located in historic buildings, whilst ensuite accommodation is located in the newer part of College. The rooms are situated in different buildings, therefore please bear this in mind when making a group booking. Please note that the College cannot accommodate babies or children under 16 years old. Please note that the College does not accept accommodation bookings for hen or stag parties. Car parking is not available at St Catharines. Please refer to Cambridge Tourist Information Office for further details on parking options in Cambridge.

St Catharine's, or "Catz" as the College is known, was founded in 1473, by Robert Woodlark. He chose a small site next to Kings and a close relationship with that college has been maintained. Originally a small college, it gradually acquired buildings around and was largely rebuilt in the 17th century, with work starting on the Main Court in 1673 and the Chapel being completed in 1704. Copies of the College history and postcards are available from the Porters' Lodge. A hearty traditional English breakfast is served in the College's Great Hall, from 7.30am-9.00am each day. On Saturday and Sunday breakfast is extended until 09.30am. Guests are very welcome to use the fully licensed College bar. Wireless internet access is available to guests at no extra charge in all public areas and in the accommodation. There is a small luggage room available, which guests are welcome to leave their luggage in. However, the College cannot be held responsible for any theft/damage to any items left on site. Coin-operated laundry rooms and ironing facilities are available for residents’ use. Ask at the Porters’ Lodge for directions. Hairdryers may be available on request from Porter's Lodge.
