Halifax Hall, formerly a Victorian steel baron’s mansion and subsequently University hall of residence for more than 80 years. A traditional period mansion in Sheffield, transformed into an outstanding and individual 38 ensuite bedroom boutique hotel, ideal for conferences, events, weddings and leisure breaks. Offering double ensuite rooms, all with specially designed bedding, duvets and pillows to maximise your comfort during your stay. In every room you will find a luxurious robe, designer toiletries, a wall-mounted 32″ television, Wi-Fi access and a personal safe.

The house was built in 1840 and subsequently extended in 1891 after being purchased by Sir Joseph Jonas. Purchased from the trustees of Sir Joseph in 1929, in 1934 it was opened as The University Hall for Woman. In 1959 it was renamed Halifax Hall after Lord Halifax, who at the time served as Chancellor of the University. From breakfast to dinner the chef has created wonderful menu's for any time of the day. There is a full licensed bar open 24 hours to residents, with a wide selection of bottled lagers, local bottled beers, wines and spirits. In order to provide you with the highest quality refreshments, you will find bean to cup coffee facilities on each floor. This is provided by Cafeology, a local company specialising in sourcing and producing the finest fairtrade beverages. Accompanying this is a selection of teas, hot chocolate, fresh fruit and home-made cookies. Set on the edge of Sheffield and the stunning yorkshire country side, with landscaped gardens, Halifax Hall is the perfect location to relax and unwind. The expert staff at Halifax Hall ensure that all facilities and services exceed every expectation you may have of the hotel, whether travelling for business or leisure. Arrival information

Check in: From 3.00pm Check out: By 11.00am On arrival please report to the Reception, which is manned 24 hours a day. Directions: From the north, south and east (M1, M18). Approach Sheffield on the M1 and leave the motorway at Junction 33, following the City Centre signs along the dual carriageway A630/A57/A61 Parkway for approximately 10 minutes. At Park Square move into the second lane and take the third exit sign posted A61(S), along Sheaf Street. Following the Ring Road and University signs, turn right onto St Mary’s Road/A61. At the roundabout go straight on. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Ecclesall Road. Continue along Ecclesall Road and at the next roundabout, take the fourth exit onto Brocco Bank and turn left when you reach Endcliffe Vale Road. Halifax is located on the right approximately 200 metres down the road. From the west (A57 Snake Pass). Follow the ‘City Centre’ signs. About 300 metres after the BP filling station, turn right into Shore Lane. At the bottom, turn right and the take your second left onto Endcliffe Vale Road. Halifax is about 400 metres on your left. You can park at the hotel, subject to availability, please obtain a permit from reception. There is also some street parking available. Nearest Train Station: Sheffield. Regular services operate between Sheffield and London St Pancras (2 ¼ hours), Birmingham (1 ¼ hours), Leeds (1 hour), Manchester (1 hour) and Nottingham (1 hour). The Sheffield bus interchange is a short walk away from the train station. By Bus: The Endcliffe Village is well served by public transport with frequent bus services to and from the City Centre. For more information and timetables, visit www.travelsouthyorkshire.com. Please note, the 120 Stagecoach bus does not go to Fulwood Road. Please take the 120 First bus. By Taxi: There are taxi ranks at the Railway Station and the City Hall. The journey to Halifax can take up to 20 minutes at busy times and you can expect to pay around £8.
