This 19th century Lakeland dwelling welcomes guests to its homely, bed and breakfast guest house accommodation, presented in a mix of contemporary and traditional style and featuring beautifully appointed shower rooms with all your toiletry requirements in the organic Bathhouse range. Situated at the southern tip of Lake Windermere, 1 mile from the Lake, near Newby Bridge. Hill Crest is ideally located for walking and sightseeing in the Lake District and Furness peninsula with many attractions close by - the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam train, the Motor museum, Fellfoot Park, Steam boats on the Lake...... and Bowness, Cartmel, Ulverston and Grange-Over-Sands only a very short driveaway. Please note there is a minimum 2 night stay at weekends (Friday and Saturday evenings) and during the school holidays, Minimum 3 night stay over Bank Holiday weekends. Children staying in the family room are charged at age 8: £6.00 per child, per night, age 9 to 12: £15.00, per child, per night and age 13 to 15: £20.00 per child, per night, please add as an upgrade when booking (maximum 2 children). Single occupancy is also available in a double room, add promotional code SINGLE (Sunday to Thursday nights and SINGLEWKEND (Friday and Saturday nights).
Hill Crest was the last fully Lakeland stone dwelling to be built in the village. The property was extended from a 2 bedroom bungalow to a 5 bedroom split level house, with all 5 rooms having en-suite and adding a guests lounge and conservatory breakfast room. An extensive breakfast menu is on offer at Hill Crest, using fresh local produce where possible. Bacon and Sausage from the local butcher, and free-range eggs from a local farm. The Hill Crest Guest House offer a large buffet of fresh fruits, grapefruit, prunes and mixed berries. A large selection of cereals, mixed yogurts and greek, freshly cooked croissants and mixed nuts, dried fruit and seeds. There is also a full selection of fruit juices. The cooked options include: full English, omelettes, eggs benedict, fish, smoked salmon and pancakes. There are a selection of eateries in the area, from restaurants to country pubs, some within walking distance. Hill Crest is surrounded by beautiful gardens in an elevated position with picturesque views of the countryside around. Taking a short walk the Lake District mountains are clearly visible. After a long day, guests can relax and unwind in the lounge, with Sky TV, games, magazines, maps and interesting literature, or enjoy the sunshine out on the terrace with a glass of wine. All rooms have free Wifi. There is ample off road parking available, together with secure overnight storage for bikes and motorcycles. During guests stay the local leisure facilities located just a 5 min walk away can be used at a discounted rate of £5 a day.
Check In: 4.00pm Check Out: 10.00am Directions: Take junction 36 off M6 and filter off left, follow signs for Newby Bridge (A590), when you reach Newby Bridge carry on for approximately 1 mile and take next left for Brow Edge Road. Come into the village and down into a dip and as you start climbing up Hill Crest Guest House is the fourth building on the right. Nearest Railway Station: Grange-over-Sands Station, 20 minutes by taxi or take the X6 bus outside the station and depart at Brow Edge (the next stop after Newby Bridge).
