Homerton College has an unusual and interesting history which commenced with a London society in 1730 eventually aquiring our current site the Cavendish College, Cambridge in 1894. It became a ladies college due to the University not approving of a mixed college at that time and did not start taking men again until 1976. It was not until 2010 that Homerton was finally granted full collegiate status as a self-governing college of the University of Cambridge. Homerton is one of the largest colleges in Cambridge and also very proud to be known as the friendliest College. Your breakfast will be served in one of the dining rooms or the Buttery. Bedroom blocks are situated within 25 acres of beautifully maintained grounds which guests are welcome to explore at leisure. Free on-site parking is available on a first-come first-serve basis. Check In: From 2.00pm Check Out: By 9.00am On arrival guests should check in to their rooms at the Porters' Lodge, located at the front of the College on Hills Road. Please note, the Lodge is open 24hrs a day. Directions: Homerton College is just twelve minutes walk from the city’s mainline railway station and ten minutes drive from junction 11 of the M11 motorway which links Cambridge to London Stansted and Heathrow airports.
