International Hall provides accommodation during the summer months, offering affordable and comfortable accommodation for visitors in the heart of London. Based in the Bloomsbury area of the city, International Hall is within short walking distance from the British Library, the British Museum, Senate House and is very centrally located with most of the major attractions, landmarks and the river Thames being within walking distance or a short bus or tube ride away. International Hall offers standard single and double studio accommodation for visitors, with breakfast included. Bathroom facilities are shared for the single rooms between 1 to 5 guests and the studios have a private bathroom. There is also a common room and TV room in the hall.
The first Wing (now known as the North Wing) was opened in 1963 by the Indian High Commissioner. The second part of the hall (now known as the West Wing) was opened in 1968 by the then Chancellor of the University of London, HM Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. The hall underwent a major refurbishment in 2002-2003 with the construction of a new Central Wing and the construction of a new entrance on Lansdowne Terrace and refurbishment of all facilities and rooms. The newly refurbished hall was reopened in December 2003 by the Chancellor of the University of London, HRH the Princess Royal, Princess Anne. Breakfast is included in the room rate and consists of a variety of options, including the traditional full English, 7 days per week, we offer a vegetarian option but can not cater for special dietary requirements. Breakfast times are: Mon - Fri 08.00 -09.00, Sat & Sun 08.30-09.30 Drinks vending machines are available. There is a small open-air shopping mall at the end of the street with fashion shops, supermarket, several restaurants, coffee shops and a fabulous patisserie. Bloomsbury is packed full of trendy bars, restaurants and cafes. Due to the area`s diversity and culture, you can experience tastes from all around the globe. Brunswick Square public park is just opposite International Hall and Russell Square public park is just 1 minutes walk at the end of the street. Wifi connection is available in each room and the communal areas and the dining room. Connection details for wifi can be obtained from reception. A squash court is available in the building and can be hired by the hour. Rackets and balls are available at Reception where you can also book the court.
Check In: From 2.00pm Check Out: By 10.00am On arrival you will need to check-in at the reception desk in the hall, which is manned 24hrs a day. Directions: From Russell Square, turn right when coming out of the station, go straight ahead and cross the street. The hall is on the corner on the right hand side and the entrance is on the other side of the building on Lansdowne Terrace. By Car: If you are driving please be aware that the hall does not offer parking facilities and it might be difficult to find a space on the street. The nearest NCP car parks are on Woburn Place and on Bloomsbury Place. Please note that central London operates a Congestion Charge zone between the hours of 7am-6.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays. The current daily charge when entering the zone is £11.50, to find out more and how to pay please visit the following website www.cclondon.com. By Train: Euston Station, King’s Cross, and St Pancras national rail / mainline stations are all within 5 minutes’ walk. St Pancras is also the main Eurostar terminal for international connections to Paris and Brussels. A taxi could cost between £5- £10 from these stations to the residence. By Air: Trains from Gatwick Airport and Luton Airport run to King`s Cross Station from the airport and the Piccadilly line on the underground connects all Heathrow Airport terminals with King`s Cross Station as well, making in very simple to travel to the hall. By Tube: The closest tube stations are Russell Square, Goodge Street, Euston Square, Euston Station and King`s Cross St Pancras. By Bus: There are numerous buses available in the area as well, including night buses. The closest stops are on Russell Square (59, 68, 91, 7, 168, 188), Euston Road (73, 63, 205, 30) and Gower Street (29, 390, 10, 14, 24, 134).
