Centrally situated in the coastal village of Cruden Bay, only 800 metres from the world renowned Cruden Bay Links Golf Course, the hotel offers an excellent base for golf and other sporting pursuits. A short walk to the beach and historic harbour and Slain Castle and central for exploring the whisky and castle trails. Named after the fifteenth Earl of Erroll's Father, fourth Earl of Kilmarnock, the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel has been welcoming guests for over 200 years. The first recording of the hotel was when a local newspaper in 1888 reported a dinner in honour of a departing tenant from Braehead Farm. The hotels most noted guest, Bram Stoker, was a regular at the hotel in 1894 and is most famous for his book "Dracula" which is said that the idea for the book was born whilst sitting next to Slains Castle in the wind and the rain. Full English/Scottish breakast included and served in the light and airy restaurant, with views over the gardens.
