This award winning luxury spa hotel in the heart of mid Wales is the perfect destination for a hotel break or romantic getaway. Standing in its own fifty acres of grounds, with sweeping lawns, riverside walks and rhododendron lined pathways it really is the place to relax. Fly Fishing, golf and various walks are available on site and there is a good range of other golf courses and open gardens in the area. Horse riding, the Elan Valley and the Brecon Beacons are all near by. Accommodation includes, double, junior and luxury suites which have separate lounge areas and large luxury bathrooms with fluffy towels and designer toiletries.

The house itself is an architectural bagatelle, begun in 1840 and remodelled in 1900. The half-timbering suggests Tudor, yet the verandas and French windows give it a colonial air. Built as a hunting and fishing lodge, the hotel has a rich history; from the turn of the 12th Century until World War II, it was the only barium spa resort outside of Germany. Full English breakfast included in the awarded two rosette restaurant. Modern Celtic food is served in a relaxed unhurried manner to ensure dining at the hotel is an experience to remember. All dishes are prepared with fresh local ingredients, including the hotels own gardens. Enjoy a cocktail or two in the lounge before dining and enjoy a list of over 300 wines to complement the meal. Afternoon tea is also served in the lounge area and in the warmer months outdoors on the terrace. Dress code is smart casual. The Lake Country House has 50 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds with its own Welsh spa, par 3 golf course, croquet lawn, putting green and tennis court. Some of the best fishing in Wales on 7 miles of river and 3 acre lake within the grounds. Horse riding and mountain biking can also be arranged at the hotel. The Kingfisher Spa offers luxurious facilities and service for hotel guests. With four spa treatment rooms and therapists offering a wide range of health and beauty treatments. The peaceful 15m hotel swimming pool is supplemented by an outdoor hot-tub set on the balcony overlooking the shoreline. The coffee shop is the ideal meeting place for members and non-members. For the energetic there is a fully equipped gym and those guests who like to be pampered can take advantage of the massage and range beauty treatments. The lounges with comfortable sofas and open fires have a number of board and card games such as chess and trivial pursuit tucked away in beautiful chests and cabinets. The billiard room offers a full sized billiard table.
