The hotel was formerly an Edwardian Country House built in 1900. Originally with five bedrooms and was set in seven acres. Stella’s dishes utilize the best local Cumbrian ingredients cooked with Italian flair. From sharing plates to stand alone main dishes there is something for everyone. Linthwaite overlooks Lake Windermere and is surrounded by 14 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds. The hotel even has its own tarn where you can just listen to the silence and unwind. The terrace offers stunning views across Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond.
Check In: 2.00pm Check Out: 11.00am Directions: From the North: Leave the M6 at Junction 39 (Shap) and follow the signs to Kendal. At Kendal follow the one-way system to Lakes/Windermere. At the large roundabout north-west of Kendal take the B5284 (Crook Road) sign-posted 'Hawkshead via Ferry', keeping the Gateway Inn on your right. Drive down the B5284 for 6 miles. The hotel is on the left one mile past Windermere Golf Club. From the South: To reach the hotel turn off the M6 at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway for about 8 miles. At the large roundabout north-west of Kendal take the B5284 (Crook Road) sign-posted 'Hawkshead via Ferry', keeping the Gateway Inn on your right. Drive down the B5284 for 6 miles. The hotel is on the left one mile past Windermere Golf Club. By Train: The nearest train station is Windermere (around 2 miles/10 minutes/ £7 by taxi), with regular connections to and from Oxenholme station which is on the main London Euston to Glasgow line. Oxenholme is 2 hours 39 minutes by train from London Euston. There are also trains from Manchester Airport to Windermere (some direct) which is a 2 hour journey.
