Mansfield is one of the smallest of the 38 University of Oxford colleges and is ideally located in a leafy part of central Oxford close to the University Parks, Science area and 5 minutes walk from the City centre. The College is pleased to offer accommodation in student bedrooms during the vacation periods. The accommodation consists of traditional student study bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities (singles and twins) and modern, single ensuite rooms. All accommodation is located on the main College site. There are no parking facilities available at the College. The College Porter's Lodge is open 24 hours a day and late night / early morning arrivals are permitted with prior agreement. Mansfield College looks forward to welcoming you and your guests.

The College transferred to Oxford from Birmingham in 1886 and became a Free Church centre for the study of theology, preparing students from any dissenting denomination for the ministry. Building work began on the current college site, which was purchased from Merton College in October 1886 and was completed at a cost of £40,000 in October 1889. The original Gothic style buildings are regarded as amongst the finest work of the prominent Victorian Architect Basil Champneys. Mansfield admitted its first female student, Constance Todd, who later became the first woman to be ordained to the Christian ministry in Britain in 1913. The College also became a Permanent Private Hall in 1955 and received a Royal Charter in 1995, becoming a full college of the University of Oxford. The College is a small, friendly college with about 400 students and 70 staff, some of which belong to the Senior Common Room. It has a reputation within and beyond Oxford of encouraging applications from the state sector and in particular from students in Further Education. Full English and continental breakfasts are included in the accommodation booking. The College Crypt Cafeteria is open for breakfast between 7.45-8.45am Monday - Saturday and 8.15-9.15am on Sundays. Special dietary requirements can be catered for on request. The College Crypt Cafeteria and Bar is open 7 days a week. Guests can purchase coffees, pastries, cakes and snacks at any time between 09.00 and 22.00 daily. Visitors purchasing drinks from the bar are welcome to enjoy them in the Crypt or outside on the Terrace. Visitors are welcome to make use of the College bench seating situated around the quadrangle where they can enjoy views of the College and soak up the atmosphere of the beautiful Victorian buildings. All bedrooms are fully equipped with bed linen, towels and tea and coffee making facilities. WiFi is free for the first four hours of daily use, with a small, on-line fee payable after that. Laundry facilities are available at the College. Tokens for the machines and washing powder tablets can be purchased from the Porter's Lodge if required. Hairdryers are available from the Porter's Lodge. Ironing boards and irons are located on each staircase for guest use. Luggage can be stored at the Porter's Lodge for early arrivals or late departures.
