You will find a warm, friendly atmosphere provided by the owners Annette and Ian Roberts who pride themselves on making all their guests welcome. Awarded Best Guest House Finalist for three consecutive years in The York Tourism Awards, the hosts are continually renewing and refurbishing the property to maintain its high standard. The property stands on a bold corner plot and is close to all the attractions that the city of York has to offer. The car park accommodates up to 14 cars. The city centre can be reached via a lovely riverside walk in approximately 20 minutes. York University is also a 20 minute walk away or two/three minutes in a car. Midway House was built in 1897 and is a late Victorian Villa. The house has been a Guest House for approximately 40 years. Situated on the original coaching route between London and Edinburgh and in fact there was a road sign just across from the property for many years showing the mileage to both Cities as being 196 miles...hence the name Midway! Breakfast is served from 8.00am to 9.00am daily. A freshly served English or vegetarian breakfast is prepared each morning and served in the sunny and spacious dining room. Other diets can be catered for with prior notice. Midway House stands proudly on a corner plot and has an enclosed garden at the rear. There is a guest lounge on the ground floor which provides a place to relax. Perhaps take time to read the extensive range of literature available or just sit back watching television.

Directions: By Road: From A1 take A64 and stay on this road until the third York exit A19 which is signposted York City Centre/Fulford /University to the left, and Selby to the right. Turn left on roundabout heading for York Centre, travelling through three sets of lights. Midway House is situated on the corner of Fulford Road and Derwent Road, 70 yards past the third set of lights. By Rail/Bus: Public Transport from York Railway Station: Take the no.7 Red Line Park and Ride bus from opposite the station to Fulford Road Army Barracks stop. Midway House is approximately 500 yards along the footpath on the same side of the road.
