Passfield Hall, Bloomsbury, London

Passfield Hall, located in leafy Bloomsbury and is just two minutes' walk to the British Museum and within 10 minutes’ walk to the West End of London, with its famous shops, theatres and attractions. Offering great value private rooms with a unique mix of classic architecture, excellent service and modern facilities in central London, made up of three Georgian buildings surrounding a walled garden. Single, twin and triple rooms are available with shared bathroom facilities, for up to six people, although there are ensuite to some rooms. As Passfield is a Grade II listed building some of the Hall is only accessible by stairs. Some rooms are accessible by lift and a small number of wheelchair accessible single rooms are available upon request. Passfield Hall is a student residence owned and managed by the London School of Economics. During the university vacations it operates as a Bed and Breakfast offering great value central London accommodation. All profits go towards supporting student accommodation. Please note: Due to refurbishments in the kitchen area of Passfield Hall a continental breakfast will only be served between June 15th and 28th September 2019.

Passfield Hall was LSE's first residence, opened in 1948. It is named after the first Lord Passfield, Sidney Webb, one of the four members of the Fabian Society who founded LSE in 1895. It is a prime example of the late Georgian Town Houses that characterise Bloomsbury. The building itself comprises ten houses around a courtyard garden. Seven houses make up the main block and three the two annexes. Given its grade II listed status some rooms can only be accessed by stairs and the building retains its single glazed wooden sash windows. In 2006 the building underwent an extensive £7m refurbishment programme and now offers a unique mix of modern facilities and classic architecture. Breakfast is included in the price of the accommodation with an excellent choice, ranging from Continental and English options, plus tea, coffee, toast and juice. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden. (breakfast not included in the two bedroom flat) Due to refurbishments in the kitchen area of Passfield Hall a continental breakfast will only be served between June 15th and 28th September 2019. There are also a number of restaurants and cafes nearby. It is also just ten minutes walk from Charlotte Street, one of London's most famous eating destinations. There is a huge range on offer from cheap and cheerful to top notch, Thai to Italian, with everything in between. Kitchens are available for use throughout the building (with microwaves, hob, toaster, kettle, fridges). Vending machines are available 24 hours a day in the dining room. Passfield boasts a walled courtyard garden - an ideal place to relax and unwind after a day in London or to take breakfast during the summer. Free WiFi available throughout the building and in each room. Bright, airy common and TV room with cable TV, pool table and table tennis. Pay-as-you-go laundry room with washing machines & dryers. 24-hour CCTV and Security Lift to some floors of the main building. Some rooms and the annexes can only be accessed via several flights of stairs.

Check in: From 3.00pm Check out: By 10.30am You can check in anytime after 3.00pm as reception is manned 24 hours a day. If you arrive early or leave late we can store your luggage for you free of charge. On Saturday 15th June 2019 check-in time will be postponed to 4PM to allow the hall sufficient time to prepare the rooms after the students move out in the morning. Passfield has a friendly reception desk open between 7.30am and 10.00pm, offering advice on local attractions, transport etc. Outside of these times reception is staffed by security. How to find us: Passfield could not be better located for travelling around London and the UK. The hall is a short journey from London's airports and mainline stations There are three underground stations within 10 minutes walk. - Euston (Northern and Victoria lines) - leave the station, cross Euston Road and head down Upper Woburn Place. Turn right at Tavistock Square. Endsleigh Place is off the north west corner of the Square. Passfield occupies the whole of northern side of Endsleigh Place. - Russell Square (Piccadilly line) - turn left out of the station, at the junction turn right and walk up Woburn Place to Tavistock Square. Endsleigh Place is off the north west corner of the Square. Passfield occupies the whole of northern side of Endsleigh Place. - Euston Square (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitian line) - come out of the University College Hospital Exit. Turn right and immediately right onto Gower Place, continue along crossing Gordon Streeting into Endsleigh Gardens. At Endslieght Street turn right. Endsleigh place in then on your right - the hall is on the right hand side. - King's Cross St. Pancras (Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines) - leave the station, turn right along Euston Road. Turn left down Upper Woburn Place. Turn right at Tavistock Square. Endsleigh Place is off the north west corner of the Square. Passfield occupies the whole of northern side of Endsleigh Place. This is around 10 minutes walk. Alternatively you can take the 390, 59 or 73 bus which all pass close to Passfield. From Heathrow: The easiest way to reach Passfield is by tube. Take the Picadilly line from Heathrow to Russell Square (around 40 minutes). If you prefer you can also take the AirBus (A2) which stops at Euston Square. From Stansted: Take the Stanstead Express to Tottenham Hale then transfer onto the Victoria line to Euston (a 45 minute jounrey). From Luton: Take the Thameslink Service to St. Pancras and then either walk (around 10 minutes) or take the Victoria line to Euston (a 1 hour journey). From City: Take the DLR to Bank Station, at Bank change onto the Northern Line to Euston (around 35 mintues) From Eurostar: Leave the station, turn right along Euston Road.
