The Reading Rooms Haydon Bridge is ideally situated in Northumberland's wonderful countryside, whether your interests be walking, cycling, fishing, golf, shopping or riding. Surrounded by Heritage sites like Hadrian's Wall, National Trust Properties, The Lake District, the coast and castles of Northumberland and The Metro Centre all within an easy drive. Every effort has been made to make your stay as comfortable as possible. All three rooms are ensuite, large and furnished to a high standard: one is on the ground floor and two are suitable as family rooms. The rooms are light and two overlook the River South Tyne. All the rooms have televisions and hospitality trays. If single occupancy is required please use the code SINGLE to see available rooms.

Originally built in 1850 as the village Reading Rooms, this was a venue for men to read the newspapers and the Bible. At a later date a snooker table was added and the establishment took on a role as a men’s club where there was no gambling, no alcohol and no women! The property was divided and became two homes sometime in the late 1960s. The Reading Room was bought as a private house in the early part of 2006 and has undergone a major refurbishment to create a warm and welcoming B&B. Breakfast is served between 7.30am and 9.30am unless by prior arrangement, guests can choose from full English, continental, vegetarian or healthy options. Easy parking, secure shed for cycles, drying room for boots, laundry service and provision of packed lunches are just some of the extras that are provided.
