This Grade II listed former forge has been sensitively restored, retaining many of the original 15th Century features. Situated opposite the St Ann’s Gate pedestrian entrance into the Cathedral Close, St Anns Forge is within easy walking distance from Salisbury’s shops and bustling twice weekly market, many historic pubs and a range of independent restaurants. Once inside St Anns Forge, the comfort and quiet afforded by double and triple glazing and secluded courtyard garden make this a real retreat. Arranged over three floors, the accommodation is stylish and versatile, the atmospheric exposed original timber structure contributes to a house full of character. St Anns Forge has four bedrooms sleeping up to ten guests. On the first floor there are 2 double bedrooms, one twin and one single. Bathroom/WC with independent shower above the bath. On the second floor there is a en-suite master bedroom with 5ft double bed and dressing area, adjoining sitting area with 4ft double sofa bed and space for a cot. The property is dog-friendly and a travel cot and highchair are available so that all family members are catered for. Please note there is a minimum stay of 3 nights.

The building dates from 1503 and until the 1970's it was a small 1 bedroom cottage and a forge looking after the horses on the London to Salisbury road. This explains the chequered windows which were opened when the blacksmith was working. It was modified in 1978 whilst retaining many of the original features including the solid stone fireplace which is over a metre thick and built using leftover stone from the Cathedral. The Forge has a large farmhouse kitchen fully equipped with a washing, tumble dryer, dishwasher, electric oven and microwave. Many guests enjoy selecting the finest fresh local produce from Salisbury’s twice weekly market (Tuesday and Saturday), independent bakeries or delicatessen (Bird & Carter) and bringing home to St Anns Forge to create something delicious in our well equipped kitchen and serve up at our huge farmhouse table! Should you wish to let someone else do the work there are many places to eat locally such as the Thai Orchid or The Rai D'or Anokaa. Leading from the kitchen is an outdoor space furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. Additional oak decked balcony area accessed via stairs. Telephone for in coming calls and visitors' daily parking vouchers supplied at cost.
