St George's House is a family run hotel and is situated in a quiet road between the town centre and the cliff top walk. Both can be easily reached on foot within two minutes making it the perfect location for all the amenities in Shanklin which occupies the southern most position of Sandown Bay. The town has some of the best beaches on the Island with great facilities on the seafront for people of all ages. The 9 ensuite bedrooms are individually furnished and decorated all of the rooms have hospitality trays with tea and coffee, a colour TV. Guests also have the benefit of free internet access and an iron and ironing board is available upon request.
St George's House was built in 1870 and even though the well presented and furnished rooms offer every modern day comfort, many of the original features have been retained. Breakfast is served Monday - Sunday 8.30am - 9.30am in the sunny dining room can seat up to 30 people. The hotel takes pride in delicious home cooked food. A well stocked bar adjacent to the large sitting room offers guests a good range of beers, wines and spirits along with soft drinks and fruit juices. Please ask at reception for places to visit as the staff are always willing to advise guests on a great day out, alternatively there are a selection of board games, puzzles and books for those rainy days when indoor pursuits are more attractive all round.
