The Swan at Hay is a privately owned hotel just moments from the bustling town centre of Hay on Wye, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The beautiful listed Georgian building with 19 ensuite rooms is a wonderful location for short breaks, weddings and visiting the Hay Literacy Festival. The bedrooms are full of charm and character, and are all different in shape and size. Some have views of the garden, while others have period features. All rooms are decorated to the same standard with ensuite bathrooms, flatscreen TVs and generous tea tray. Hay-on-Wye is the perfect place for a short break. If you want a really relaxing holiday, then you need look no further than the world-famous bookshops and boutiques only a few moments' walk away. If you prefer a more active break, take advantage of The Swan at Hay’s superb location, nestled between the Black Mountain and the Brecon Beacons. It is also moments away from The Wye Valley ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and less than half a mile from Offa's Dyke Footpath.

As a former coaching inn, The Swan at Hay is full of character, from the original Georgian windows overlooking the garden to the cobbled stable block, with the original horses' name places still intact. Breakfast is served Monday-Sunday 8.00am-9.30am and consists of a full Welsh breakfast and all food is locally sourced. The hotel has two restaurants: the Garden Room, which serves dinner in the summer and Sunday lunches, and the bistro which serves lunch and evening meals. The hotel also has a garden ideal for summer al fresco dining. Being fortunate enough to live in an area providing some of the finest food and ingredients available in the United Kingdom the aim is to create dishes where at least 80% of the ingredients are from a local source. A typical menu will include Herefordshire beef and Welsh Marches lamb served alongside fruit and vegetables from the gardens and orchards of the Wye Valley. The restaurant times are everyday from 12.00pm–2.00pm and 7.00pm–9.00pm. The hotel also caters for private dining and there is a selection of rooms available for private dinners from 6 to 100. An ideal venue for small and medium sized conferences and business meetings, the hotel has gained an excellent reputation for hosting management training workshops, team building events and company parties. It is the perfect location for a meeting, as it is in quiet countryside, yet is within easy reach of main motorway networks (M4 and M5). Set in the Welsh Marches, on the Herefordshire/Powys border, it is a wonderful setting for your wedding with Georgian elegance and romantic gardens. The hotel is also licenced to hold civil ceremonies in The Garden Room, overlooking the walled garden.
