Trinity Hall, Cambridge

Renowned as one of the oldest and most beautiful of the Cambridge Colleges, Trinity Hall offers outstanding historic architecture, stunning grounds, gardens and riverside views. Ideally located in the centre of Cambridge, visitors to Trinity Hall have countless bars, restaurants, museums and historic attractions within a short walk away. The rooms are clean and comfortable and include overnight toiletries, a Fairtrade hospitality tray with tea & coffee making facilities, use of bathrobes and slippers and WiFi access. The single traditional bedrooms have shared bathroom facilities, with an average of four bedrooms sharing a bathroom. Breakfast is enjoyed in Trinity Hall's stunning medieval Dining Hall. The overnight accommodation on offer houses undergraduates during term time. Please note that we are unable to accept bookings for Stag and Hen parties.

The fifth oldest College of Cambridge University, Trinity Hall was founded by Bishop William Bateman of Norwich in 1350. This stunning venue holds many architectural treasures and historical artefacts dating back to Medieval times. Nestled between Clare and Trinity Colleges, Trinity Hall lies beside the River Cam in the centre of Cambridge. With its gardens, architecture and riverside position, Henry James said of it, “If I were called upon to mention the prettiest corner of the world, I should draw a thoughtful sigh and point the way to the gardens of Trinity Hall.” In the early days of Oxford & Cambridge Universities the term college only referred to the group of students who lived within a Hall. Later on it became fashionable to adopt the name College instead of Hall. However by the time this became fashionable Henry VIII had created his own Trinity College next door leaving Trinity Hall no option but to remain as Trinity Hall. Breakfast is served in the medieval Dining Hall at the following times: Mon – Sat: 8.15 – 9.00am; Sunday: 8.45am – 9.30am. Trinity Hall enjoys outstanding historic grounds and gardens. The iconic Latham Lawn, with its historic purple beech tree, is a perfect spot to sit and relax or watch the world go by from the River Terrace which overlooks the historic River Cam. The Porters' Lodge has hair dryers available for guests' use.

Arrival information

On Arrival: Visitors must register at the Porters Lodge on Trinity Lane, where a room key or access card will be issued. Rooms will be available from 2pm on the day of arrival. Please show your booking confirmation to the Porters. How to Find Us: By rail: Cambridge Station is an approximate 30 minute walk, but buses run every 8 minutes into the centre of Cambridge and taxis are available at Cambridge Station. By road: Cambridge is linked to London and the M25 by the M11 motorway. Exit at junction 12 for Barton Road or Junction 13 for Madingley Road. Parking: We cannot offer any parking, due to our central location. The closest public car parks are the Grand Arcade on Corn Exchange Street, CB2 3QF and Park Street Car Park, CB5 8AS .
