Tudor Cottage is a 15th century bed and breakfast in the National Trust village of Bossington, within the Exmoor National Park. With all the modern comforts you would expect and set in a tranquil village setting amongst beautiful countryside with many walks from the doorstep and just minutes from the south west coast path and 10 minutes walk to the sea. The B&B has comfortable rooms which include television, Freeview and DVD player, hairdryer, mini bar and a clock radio. The village of Porlock is a short walk and hosts a number of restaurants and public houses.
The cottage started life as a 15th century cross passage house open to the roof with head height screens dividing it and the fire burning on the floor as is evidenced by the smoke blackened beams in the loft. The house was modernised in the early 17th century with floors and fire places being added. During the Victorian era it was converted into two cottages and eventually back to one. In the 1960's it was grade two listed.Eventually being modernised to become the layout you see today. Breakfast is normally served between 8.15 and 9am and consists of an assortment of cooked items including a full English with locally produced sausage and bacon or a continental option with a selection of juices and teas and coffee. Evening meals are available served up to 7.00pm, which needs to be pre-ordered 24 hours before. The B&B is fully licensed and offers a good range of wines, spirits and beers. Packed lunches are available for £6.50 per person which need to be ordered the night before and can be added as an upgrade with your booking. There is a garden for guests use with various seating areas to enjoy sun, shade and the lovely views all around. Car parking available for 1 car per room in our car park plus there is a National Trust car park the village.
Check In: From 4.00pm- 6.00pm Check Out: By10.30am Directions: Turn right off the A39 when travelling from Minehead, signposted Allerford and Bossington. Go through Allerford, taking care to spot the beautiful pack horse bridge. Pass the Owl and Hawk Centre on the left, over a little bridge and turn right into Bossington village. Nearest Train Station: Taunton (25 miles) bus transfers to Minehead. Buses or taxi available from Minehead which is 5 miles away.
